Title: Ex-Japanese Prme Minister Assassinated
Post by: Jackalope on July 07, 2022, 11:26:05 PM
No details yet, except that he is deceased.  This reminds me of the start of WWI.  Let's hope the Chinese don't have their fingers involved in the incident. :dancingGrenade:

I heard no vital signs at all on scene but still alive. I dunno how that is possible.

I read he was in cardiac arrest (heart attack)  after being shot on the chest and neck with a homemade shotgun.  That would explain the "no vital signs", as he was technically dead (in asystole) while they attempted CPR and administered epinephrine (which can keep a dead heart beating if you have enough of it).
Since he's now listed in critical condition his heart  may have restarted, or he's being kept alive mechanically/chemically while they work to repair the damage.

Beat cops in Japan carry revolvers in flapped holsters. Knife crime is far more common, although there are a fair amount of handguns floating around.

Waiting for the War Department to wake up so I can get her take on it, she's likely going home for the rest of the summer next week. My father-in-law really liked Abe, but a fair number of Japanese people thought he was too close to the US. At least he was willing to tell the Chicoms to pound sand, and did a lot to build up their military, including buying Aegis radars for several of their destroyers to be able to take down Nork or Chinese missiles.

That guy is going to wish for death, the Japanese court system has a conviction rate over 98%, and their jails really, really suck. He's gonna have a bad time.

The wife was up all night watching NHK and talking to her friends back home. The guy was kicked out of the navy (JSDNF). He also had a 9-barrelled shotgun that he made at home. Grade "A" whackadoodle. He's gonna get the Hot Shot, might not even get a trial before they sauce him up. Most people she talked to were in favor of a much slower and more painful method of execution.

I've read that the suspect has communist leanings, so that could complicate life in Asia.
