If this happens, you will find me in the woods. Expect resistance.

Yeah, this is some scary stuff. I don't see how in the world they can think this is Constitutional.
I wrote Senator Rubio a letter about this topic. I also chastised him about his vote the other day on Senator Paul's amendment to this.
I hate it when elected officials take a piss on the Constitution.

reaver, theory and practice are two different things, brother. don't sketch out just yet. at least wait until it starts to be implemented for all to see. at that point, I may be contacting you if I find myself in south florida, lol.

Unless I'm misunderstanding something...It passed 88-12

I skimmed through best I could. Didn't see the issue in there. Hope fully they kicked it out.
Nola, yes your right. Implementation will result in my contract being null and void.
My chain of command is going to get some words this weekend I can feel them brewing.

i heard about s1867 about a week or so ago. how do you find out when they will vote on it? or if they already did?
i need to write my senator about it, but that wont do any good...

Many, many people have been watching this bill closely. It passed tonight 93-7. Surprisingly enough Obama vowed to veto the bill if passed but 1. Congress could still overrule his veto 2. I'll believe it when I see it and 3. Probably just trying to get reelected

I think obama said he would veto (not that anything that comes out of his mouth is truthful in the first place) it because for political gain and that he already has the power through tyrannical executive orders to kill any american without a trial by jury.

Dammit bring back the "edit" button... i meant Military**

This is really terrific. You can never have too many armed government agents on the street protecting (or intimidating) the local citizenry.
In this day when every little one stop light city has a swat team charged with serving jury summons, and every department of the Federal Government having it's own sets of armed team operators trained in military assault tactics, we still have reason to feel nervous about our safety. (Imagine that!)
Thank God we now have the military to chip in and help with Public Safety. And after today's Senate vote there won't be that pesky problem of repeat offenders. Cause the military can hold them indefinitely without a trial. Finally we can say we're "tough on crime"!
Edit: Not to steal the topic, but has anyone considered how this new law, with the help of the military, is going to help us be competitive with China in making stuff again? Just think about it. All of these new detention inductees can be working in forced labor factories for the rest of their lives working for a bowl of gruel a day. Who says our government doesn't know what their doing. Take that China, in your eye!

And just when I thought things were cooling off. Wonderful.
