Thanks to members on The Board who are Facebook savvy, Unchainedpreppers is now on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/UnchainedPreppers (http://www.facebook.com/UnchainedPreppers)
In the retail world when you open a new store, successful retailers have a SO or "soft opening" of their new store. Basically they just unlock the doors with no hoop-la. The reason being, it gives the new hires an opportunity to try out what they have just learned, e.g. running a register, answering the phones, greeting customers, inventory management, etc.
Then typically, several weeks after the store has opened they have the GO or "Grand Opening" complete with heavy advertising, special deals, balloons (You have to have balloons), etc.
Well we are in the SO phase and would like your help. Please go and "like" UnchainedPreppers and post & share but most important send PRPCOM idea's and constructive criticism on how we can make it better. Once we get to that 90 percentile of completeness we will then have the GO.
The Board has a bunch of great ideas for the GO and the members of this prepper forum - Stay tuned.
Please remember that this is YOUR prepper forum. We (royal WE) can not make it a top notch prepper site without YOUR help.

:coffeeNews: After reviewing the FB page, I have to say "awesome". I might suggest linking to posts here on UCP if there's a particularly popular topic, or if you have some sort of weekly "check in" poll type post that gets people talking. That will make the FB page a gateway to the UCP site rather than a replacement. Glad there's a FB page, though.

The wife talked me in to having a FB page a little while back. I can communicate with family, that live far away, and I can communicate my 2nd amendment right stuff, and politics and such. I will have to ponder on this. My only concern is keeping our identities more low key. How would this work? It seems like different things would spill over from one world, into the other. Gotta get to work. Have a good one!

About FB, only share/enter information you are comfortable with and make sure the privacy settings are how you wish them to be.

Well, not to be too tin-foil-hatish, but I just assume that those I'm concerned with knowing who you are, already have the technology and skill to find it out already, despite what countermeasures you may take. Then again, I'm not a techie.

Absolutely rah45.
Guys, if your OPSEC concerns are because of Gov's agencies, forget about it, they know your IP, and your Internet Service Provider will give them your Name, address and credit card you use to pay.
If your concern is other guys knowing about you, just keep a private profile, and only share stuff with your "friends".
You can't see people who liked a page, the only way some member will know you liked the page is if you comment or like one of the posts.
Anyway, whatever your OPSEC concerns, I invite you guys to read this excellent article by John Mosby
