Yup.
GotNews.com’s Ferguson police sources are confirming that they are grateful for the support of a libertarian militia group.
“I was wondering when volunteer militia would finally show up,” said a well-placed law enforcement source.
“The Oathkeepers started standing watch from Ferguson rooftops on Tuesday since Governor Nixon abdicated his duties Monday.”

Looks like they shut them down......

Unfuckingbelievable!
Let the basketball scholars burn the place down and beat an 80 year old on oxygen god forbid white guys defend a place with guns.
I'm starting to hate this place we should have invented the cotton gen 100 years prior and never brought them here.

What's everyone's take on the Oathkeepers?
I think, within the realm of government affairs, they're a noble force. However, within the realm of humanity, they're the lesser of a great many evils.

My summary of the report below:
Law enforcement DOES NOT have enough resources to protect these businesses from from being looted/burned.... But law enforcement DOES have enough resources to send teams of snipers to point their rifles at anyone who is protecting these businesses from being looted/burned. So in other words, what we have here is typical room temperature I.Q. piggish behavior that we have all come to expect from law enforcement in this country.
Pretty scary.
If I was more a devious person and if I belonged to the Oath Keepers, I would keep a 3 man team back in reserves and come up from behind these sniper teams and confront them. ;D
But of course I do not belong to the Oath Keepers ;)
What we learn today, we will use to our advantage tomorrow.

I don't think much of OK in general. The idea of the organization is sound, but their leadership, execution and timing sucks. Not sure I'd want any of them around in a real shtf situation, at least near me. I see this particular move as more of a PR stunt, than actually hoping to accomplish anything of substance. Just my couple of cents, since you asked.

I think Kentactic had a run-in with them (Oath keepers) at the Bundy Ranch. Or was that the III% group?
Just thinking out loud here: Before anybody runs off and joins a militia group, maybe volunteer your time locally with your fire station (If it is a volunteer one that is), auxiliary sheriff/police department or local hospital. IMO, you would learn a lot more and make friends in the right places too. ;)
Then spend the dollars to get some real training e.g. Max Velocity, Chris Lukus, etc.

Look, I can't comment on this specifically because all I know about them is what I've read online and I always take that kind of info with a ton of salt.
I can however mention that I have had run ins with a few paramilitary\militia type groups in the past always looking for a few good, God honest men and at the end of the day I have found them all to be rotten at the core. The phrase "with no power comes no responsibility" comes to mind. Now I can't for sure say that this is true for all such groups but it has been my personal experience and I would rather choose to stay away.
With that being said, from a psychological point of view, I believe they could be useful for soldiers.
