Armenian Genocide (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armenian_Genocide) started this week too 100 years ago. 

Hitler saw what happened in Turkey and the non-response from the  Western counties so he use the same recipe on the Jews in WW II.

It's a big deal over here in Oz, funny how we look at a momentous cock up with reverence but it's really the spirit of the blokes involved that we celebrate, not the military tactics.

We are now good mates with the Turks, but yes they have a dark side as well as JM pointed out.
