Title: Foxfire down loads?
Post by: JoJo on May 04, 2019, 08:28:43 PM
All of my down loads have disappeared from Foxfire and I can't re-down load them. I get a message to check my connections. I first noticed it when my "Ad Block" was gone. This is what I came up with but it didn't solve the problem.

Is anyone else having this problem with Firefox?

My wife was having the same problem this morning.  Add to it that her main desk top computer decided to be unable to connect with our web server, she was having a bad day.

At first, from the title, I thought you were looking for PDF downloads of the famous Foxfire books series that has the accumulated wisdom of Appalachia in it lol

This whole thing makes me suspicious of Firefox though....

Check out Brave [https://brave.com/download/]. Not perfect by any means but they've had less bugs than the last several distros of FF.

One thing they do that I like is all of your downloads are automatically opened in your files directory, so you know exactly where they are going each time. The others normally have a default download repository, but there's been times stuff didn't make it for whatever reason.

No browser is perfect but Brave is an excellent alternative. I believe it is less of a systems hog as well when addons are running

Holey crap Batman, this search engine "Brave" is super fast.

I will play with it for awhile to see how well it works.

Thx NC Scout and Patriotman.

I found out why. I have vista and the earliest they go to is windows seven. I'm having a bad week.

Vista  LOL. Microsoft stopped supporting Vista 2-years ago. By the end of the year they will not support Windows 7. So if you download a windows program at least do Windows version 8.2

Good luck JoJo. The world of computers is a bitch for folks of our age.

On another note:

If you down load Win 8.2, and your computer has enough ram, then you might want to use half your computer for Windows and the other for Linux. Linux is a great simple OS (Operating system). Just a thought.

Will Brave work with AdBlocker?

I find that very nice to have.  It actually does great blocking ads and takes little attention.

Could not tell you offhand, but I would look at using uBlock over Adblocker. I thought that there was some controversary with Adblocker a while back, and I also think uBlock runs better

Yes sir. I use the browser extension in Firefox but will be overhauling my digital set up soon so I will be moving exclusively to Brave

Astronaut Crash crash game is a popular online crash-style game where players watch a rising multiplier. Many players mention the reported RTP around 97 percent. Return to Player means the long-term statistical payout of the game. However, this number works over thousands or millions of rounds.

In crash-style games, players often decide the moment to stop the round. Some players choose quick cash-out strategies, while others wait for higher multipliers. No strategy removes risk completely. Because the outcome is based on random results, short sessions can vary widely.

For that reason, it is important to play carefully. Learning how the game works can help players better understand the experience. Game link: https://astronaut-game-online.org
